April 23, 2024A&M Consolidated High School senior Mercedes Lopez qualified for the Educators Rising National Conference following the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) Teach Tomorrow Summit held Feb. 28-March 1 in Round Rock.

Lopez earned the Platinum Award in Lesson Planning and Delivery, giving her the opportunity to attend the national conference this summer in Washington D.C.

College Station High School junior Kaylynn Keischnick earned the Gold Award in Interactive Bulletin Board.

“The CSISD CTE Future Teachers Program has wonderful opportunities for students in the Ready, Set, Teach classes to compete in events related to the Teaching and Training Education Career Pathway,” said Tiffany Thorne CSISD TAFE advisor. “Students have planned, prepared and delivered lessons and interactive display boards that they have incorporated into their internship classes. Competing has given these future educators confidence and an opportunity to share their passion, knowledge and skills about the career of teaching.”

With more than 4,000 members across the state, TAFE provides opportunities to students to learn real-world leadership skills in the education profession, attend area, state and national conferences, earn scholarships and recognitions, network with professionals and build lifelong friendships.
