Can students retest if they do not pass a credit by exam?
Yes, with the following restrictions:
- Texas Administrative Code states that students:
1) may not attempt to test out of a course more than two times and
2) may not retest during the same assessment window.
The testing windows listed in statute are:
Spring: April 1 - June 30 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until July 1.)
Summer: July 1 - September 30 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until October 1.)
Fall: October 1 – December 31 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until January 1.)
Winter: January 1 - March 31 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until April 1.)
- The cost of retesting is not covered by the district.
- Your school counselor must sign the retest form to ensure credit will be awarded.
- University of Texas High School and Texas Tech University ISD offer retest versions of their exams. Please note that CSISD will only accept the results of retest versions.
