Ensure students are educated in an optimal environment that is safe, secure, and conducive to learning. This includes both physical safety, as well as the social emotional needs of each student.
The CSISD Safety Committee, comprised of campus administrators from across the district, met throughout the year to discuss student safety and develop recommendations for ways to further improve safety in our schools. As a result of this work, the following changes will be implemented during the 2018-19 school year:
- Safety upgrades to campus facilities within the security vestibules
- Two additional School Resource Deputies for the addition of Wellborn Middle School and provide support to campuses throughout the district
- Increased City of College Station Police Department presence on and around campuses
- Implementation of the P3 reporting app, which allows for two-way communication for anonymous reporting of concerns
- Campus staff training provided by the Brazos County Sheriff's office to update safety response protocols
- Mental Health First Aid training offered to all CSISD staff during summer 2018
