Success, Each Life...Each Day...Each Hour

Head Start

Head Start is a Federally Funded program that promotes the school readiness of eligible preschool children by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Children and families in Head Start receive comprehensive services that include health, dental, nutrition, family wellness, education, disabilities, and family services as a part of the federal guidelines.

CSISD Head Start is a classroom-based program and houses thirteen (13) developmentally appropriate Head Start classrooms on our elementary school campuses. Our classes operate as a full school day (7:40 – 3:05) with a teacher and assistant in each classroom and have high quality indoor and outdoor learning environments that are developmentally appropriate for students.

Additionally, we have Family Advocate who establish partnerships with families and assist in linking families to various local service agencies. We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children's lives and we partner with them to meet their needs and the needs of their children. The entire Head Start staff welcomes involvement in Head Start classroom activities, field trips, school meals, and various parent engagement events.
