May 24, 2024–The CSISD Board of Trustees approved four new school administrators during its regular meeting on May 21:

  • Amanda Allen, assistant principal at Creek View Elementary School, was named principal at Pebble Creek Elementary School;
  • Curtisha Maye was named assistant principal at College Station High School;
  • Karin Graser was named assistant principal at College Station High School, and
  • Shelbey Wolken, instructional coach at Southwood Valley Elementary School, was named as assistant principal at Pecan Trail Intermediate School.

Allen
 has 18 years of experience in education. She served for six years as a classroom teacher, two years as a TAP master teacher/instructional coach, five years as a math specialists and five years as an assistant principal at Creek View Elementary School, her most recent role. Allen has served on various committees throughout her tenure in CSISD and participated in the district’s Teacher Leadership Academy and the N2 Learning Aspiring Principal Institute.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University and her Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University.

"I am truly honored to step into the role of principal at Pebble Creek Elementary,” said Allen. “I look forward to partnering with our community, families and staff to continue Pebble Creek's tradition of excellence for our students."

Maye
 comes to CSISD with 22 years of experience in education. She spent 15 years serving students in the classroom before moving to administration at the elementary level as an assistant principal, where she served for five years. Her most recent position was as an assistant principal at MacArthur High School in Irving ISD, where she has served for two years. Throughout her career she has worked in every level of education serving as a teacher, team leader, TAP mentor teacher, department chair and principal intern. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

“I am humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity to return to and serve in the B/CS community as an Assistant Principal at College Station HS,” said Maye. “The B/CS area is a representation of my values–God, family, service, and education–and is the place where I learned critical life lessons and formed relationships that endured time/obstacles. I hope to continue growing as a leader and look forward to working alongside the CSISD team and community as we continue creating pathways for student success based on student data.”

Graser
 is returning to CSISD from Snook ISD, where she served as an elementary counselor and assistant principal. Her career began in Tennessee before making the move to Texas where she taught third-grade ELAR/social studies. In her time as an administrator in Snook, she was fully immersed in the inner workings of the campus, working with instruction, recruitment, 504 and more.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Retail & Consumer Sciences and Business Management, and Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Tennesse. She also holds a Master of Education in Counseling & Development from Lamar University.

“I am truly honored to return to College Station ISD and serve as an assistant principal at College Station High School,” said Graser. “I am eager to reconnect with familiar faces and look forward to building new relationships with members of our community. CSISD holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success and growth of our students.”

Wolken has 15 years of experience in education, three of which have been in CSISD as an instructional coach at Southwood Valley Elementary School. Prior to her time with the district, she served as a reading interventionist in Mexia ISD then as a technology specialist in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She has participated in the CSISD Aspiring Administrator Institute since 2021 and was most recently named Southwood Valley’s Professional of the Year.

Wolken holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood-Fourth Grade from Texas A&M University and master’s degree in Administration and Leadership from the University of Houston.

“I can't wait to work with Mrs. Cain at Pecan Trail. I am thrilled to join the team and begin building strong relationships with the staff and community,” said Wolken. “I look forward to collaborating with everyone at Pecan Trail to create a positive and supportive environment for our students.”
