
Three College Station High School students each recently won $10,000 scholarships at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo to highlight dozens of students from the Brazos Valley showing animals and competing for their respective 4H and FFA chapters.
Seniors Cassity Brown and Meagan McMurray, along with sophomore Braden Stutts, all earned $10,000 scholarships.
Brown earned first-high individual in the 4H division of the meat judging contest to earn her scholarship, while McMurray won the Meat Skillathon contest.
Stutts won his scholarship by earning Red Brangus Breed Champion with his heifer named Dos Equis Miss Skye.
Several other students had impressive finishes in their respective contests. McMurray won Reserve Champion in the Ag Policy Division of the Public Speaking contest and was also 10th high individual for the CSHS Meat Judging team, which placed third out of 65 teams. Nathan Kerth was 12th high individual and Hayden Bennett was 17th high individual.
