
A total of six business students from A&M Consolidated High School and College Station High School recently qualified to compete at the National Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Conference in Anaheim, Calif., in May.
National qualifiers include:
- David Asatryan, AMCHS - C++ Programming
- Kathy Ding, CSHS - Advanced Office Systems & Procedures
- Allyson Fisher, AMCHS - Database Applications
- Tian-Da Huang, AMCHS - PC Servicing and Troubleshooting
- Justin Park, CSHS - Fundamental Accounting
- Aabid Razvi, AMCHS - Extemporaneous Speech
Also, several individuals and teams placed high enough at the state event to be alternates to the national contest:

- AMCHS Network Design Team (Tian-Da Huang, Emmanuel Preciado, James Rude, Muhammud Sajid)
- AMCHS Small Business Management Team (Asma Maredia, Samiha Momin, Insha Umatiya)
Three students also took “open events” exams and placed in the top 5. Any BPA students can elect to take these tests.
- Allyson Fisher, AMCHS - 1st Place in Texas Merit Scholar
- Emmanuel Muyia, AMCHS - 3rd Place in Project Management Concepts
- David Chang, AMCHS - 5th Place in Computer Programming Concepts
Allyson Fisher, Sarah Kassam, Noor Bains and Pravalika Manchi received the Statesmans Award for their volunteerism in the school and community.
Fisher, Kassam, Madhu Kannan, and Bains earned the Ambassador level of the Torch Awards Program, qualifying them to attend the national conference. Manchi will travel to Anaheim in her role as Regional President.
Kassam received a $1,000.00 BPA scholarship, and Allyson Fisher and Judy Zhou received $750.00 BPA scholarship.received a $750.00 BPA scholarships.
Fisher, outgoing Regional President, and Manchi, incoming Regional President, performed various duties throughout the four-day event, while Jessica Fisher, Alek Gonzaga, and Madhu Kannan served as interns at the State Conference.
