Southwood Valley Elementary class surprised with new school supplies courtesy of Amazon and Illumination’s new film, Migration
Nov. 29, 2023—A fourth-grade class from Southwood Valley Elementary School attended a field trip at the College Station Prime Air drone facility, where they were surprised with a truck full of essential classroom supplies.
Adding to the excitement, the class’s dedicated teacher, Magie Tran, was surprised with an all-expenses paid trip to Jamaica for herself and her family, inspired by Illumination’s action-packed new original comedy, Migration, a heartfelt journey that follows a family of ducks as they take flight into the thrill of the unknown with a funny, feathered family vacation.
“Words cannot explain how grateful I feel for this experience I got to share with my students,” said Tran. “The joy on their faces is something I will never forget. These resources and technology will impact the way our students learn and explore in the classroom forever.”

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our school family, and we are so thankful for this experience,” said Ali Deluna, principal at Southwood Valley. “We are all very proud of Magie. Anyone who knows her shares the sentiment that she is so deserving. These supplies will greatly enhance the learning experiences for the students in Magie’s classroom and for all the students at Southwood Valley. We can’t wait to see our students in action with their new technology!”
