Summer school classes are from June 3 - June 28, 2024. There will be no class on June 19th.
MODULAR BASED CURRICULUM
The curriculum used in summer school is through a web based program called Edmentum.
Each 1/2 credit semester course is self-contained, and the student is able to work independently, at his or her own pace. Teachers will work in a supportive role to students as they complete their computer-based curriculum.
At the end of each unit, similar to a chapter in a book, the student will be required to show mastery of the content and the be required to take a unit test. The student then proceeds to the next module of the semester course. At the completion of all the modules for a 1/2 credit semester course (for ex. English II-A, Health, Government, or Algebra I-B), the student is required to take a final exam. The student must pass the exam to get the 1/2 credit. All grades are averaged to determine the final grade for the course.
ONLINE CURRICULUM
Edmentum is a web-based curriculum that is available at anytime, anywhere. There is no software to install or update; all you need is a basic internet connection. Courses are created using a stringent, research-based development process that starts with a review of state academic standards to determine required learning outcomes.
