Nov. 28, 2023 —Three teams from the College Station High School FFA chapter advanced past the Area XII Leadership Development Event (LDE) on Nov. 18 after placing in the top two of their respective events. Teams are set to compete in the state competition on Dec. 1.
College Station FFA teams advancing to the state competition include Public Relations, Ag Issues and AgSkills. Of the approximately 1,200 FFA chapters in Texas, 24 advanced to the state contest in each event and will compete against all sized schools from around the state.
Teams compete by giving prepared presentations to a panel of judges who rank teams based on criteria for each event.

Three other College Station FFA chapter teams competed in the area event but did not qualify for the state contest. Teams included FFA Quiz (3rd place), Job Interview (5th place), FFA Broadcasting (10th place).
The A&M Consolidated High School FFA chapter finished their LDE season at the area event with teams competing in Ag Advocacy (9th place), Ag Issues Forum (5th place), Public Relations (9th place), Senior Creed Speaking (8th place) and Senior Quiz E-Scansheets (10th place).
