Three teams from the A&M Consolidated and College Station FFA chapters placed first or second in the area contest to advance to the state competition this weekend.

The CSHS FFA Quiz team of Noah Benn, Brady Lambert, Braden Stutts (first place individual) and Garrett Stutts earned first place. In this competition, students take an exam testing team members’ understanding of FFA, agricultural education, current agricultural events and parliamentary procedure.

The CSHS Ag Issues team (Kendall Bone, Ryanne Harvey, Alyssa Hinton, Brady Lambert, Madeline Luedke and Stormie Sigler) placed second.  In this contest, a team of students research and analyze a current agricultural issue, create a portfolio and also develop and deliver a presentation that stresses both pros and cons of their selected agricultural issue. At the event competition, members use verbal skills and presentation abilities to defend their findings and answer judges’ questions.

The AMCHS Public Relations team, consisting of Paxson Berkey, Kyle Dippel and Lesley Munoz, placed second.  In the public relations contest, a team of FFA members develops and presents a five to eight minute program to inform a specified target audience regarding the Texas FFA and what it represents.
