April 29, 2024–Four CSISD track and field athletes qualified for the UIL Class 5A Track & Field State Championships following the 5A Region III Track & Field Championships held April 19-20 at Turner Stadium in Humble.
From College Station High School, senior Delaney Ulrich qualified for state in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs; junior Layni Kaase qualified for state in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and high jump and triple jump; and junior Ella Hawryluk qualified for state in pole vault. From A&M Consolidated High School, freshman Hayden Helms qualified for state in the 800-meter run.
The Cougar girls’ and boys’ claimed titles at the district meet, and the girls’ went on to win the area and regional meets.
