Oct. 18, 2023The College Station ISD Board of Trustees met Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023. The following discussions and actions are of note.

PUBLIC HEARING

 

Chief Finance Officer, Amy Drozd, and Director of Business Services, Chris Neely provided the Board with information related to the 2023 Financial Management Report based on the 2021-2022 fiscal year, an overview of the Schools FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) System, and most recent rating for College Station ISD.


FIRST is an accountability rating system developed by TEA in 1999 that holds school districts accountable for the quality of their financial management practices and actual improved performance. For the 2021-2022 fiscal year, CSISD received the highest possible rating of an “A” (Superior Achievement) with a score of 98 out of 100.

 

MEETING

 

The Board recognized students and staff members from A&M Consolidated High School, College Station High School and College View High School.

 

Report on Community Education: Chad Gardner, Director of Community Education, provided a report on Community Education to the Board. Community Education includes Kids Klub, Summer Day Camp and Summer Enrichment programs. These programs provide a fun and safe place for children to learn, grow and be active during the summer and after school.


Approval of 2023-2023 School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) members:

The Board voted 6-0 to approve 21 members to the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC).


Approval of new administrator contract:

The Board voted 6-0 to approve Sara Goolsby as Chief of Staff and School Leadership for CSISD.


Resolution of the Board:

The Board voted 6-0 to adopt a resolution regarding hazardous transportation zones in accordance with Education Code 42.155(d) and policy CAN for the area located within the following streets: Harvey Road, George Bush Drive East, University Oaks Blvd, and Stallings Drive. Approval of this resolution will allow the district to apply for transportation funding with TEA.


Contracts:

The Board voted 6-0 to approve the following contracts: 

  • 6 month extension of the current Copier and Manage Print Services contact with ImageNet to July 1, 2024 based on TIPS purchasing cooperative contract 23015

  • Renewal of Microsoft Education Desktop Package with Enterprise Client Access Licenses from SoftwareOne in the amount of $97,445.18 based on the Department of Information Resources (DIR) contract #DIR-TSO-4061 using Instructional Materials Allotment Funds

  • Contract with Epic Health Services Inc., dba Aveanna Healthcare for as needed nursing services using the CTPA interlocal agreement with New Caney ISD for the 2023-2024 school year with the option to extend for one additional year

  • Contract with Kellen Commercial Flooring for the replacement of gym floors at Oakwood Intermediate School in the amount of $65,176 utilizing 2021 Bond Funds

  • Contract to Kone Elevators for elevator repairs at AMCHS as per the Omnia Partner contract GENRL-EV2516 in the amount of $368,925.02 using 2021 Bond Funds
