Wiggling Out Your Wiggle Fidgets

Allie Jones

Wiggling out your Wiggle Fidgets I am looking for the kids that have a case of the Wiggle Fidgets! In this class we will be going through the Ready Bodies, Learning Minds Motor Lab. The stations are designed to work on the different sensory systems in the body, and ultimately teaching children how to self-regulate their bodies, while working on fine and gross motor skills! The stations are fun and challenging: walking on a balance beam, jumping on a mini trampoline, going through a tunnel, wading up paper to through into a trash can (develops muscles in their hands for writing, and works on eye-hand coordination), activities that develop your child’s core strength for writing (did you know they need that? Even for writing while sitting in a chair, they do!), and so much more! If your kiddo likes to move, this would be a great outlet for them to work out their wiggle fidgets!

Write Like a Pro

Allie Jones

Write Like a Pro!

We love reading books from amazing authors like Mo Willems, P.D. Eastman, John Klassen, and Robert Munsch, but it is even more fun to write like them! We take cherished stories, and some new ones we have never read before and use them to inspire our writing! This is a great course for students that love creative writing, want to improve their writing, or are learning how to write for the first time! We start with reading a story aloud, discussing it as a group and ways we could write from this story (I really enjoy seeing how they get inspired), creating our craft as writers, and sharing our stories at the end (if they want too)! While we let our creative juices flow, I also check in to see how they are writing and give reminders of basic writing conventions, complete sentences, and modeling how to write at the next level.
