Maggie Whitten was selected as a Gold Seal winner at the Texas Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) sponsored by the Texas Art Educators Association (TAEA).
The CSHS sophomore was one of 150 Gold Seal recipients out of more than 31,000 statewide entries.
In addition, Cypress Grove fifth-graders Kilee Herron and Haley Snyder were selected as winners of the "Top of Team" Award from the TAEA.
The Texas Elementary Art Meet is very similar to VASE and competition is designed for students in grades K-5. To be selected as "Top of Team" indicates that your artwork scored in the top 10% of the elementary art submissions in our region of the state.
