Camp U!

Camp U Program Information

YEAH for Camp U! Your child has arrived! He/she is finally one of the "older students" at Summer Enrichment and are able to attend Camp U! This program strives to meet the needs of having some enriching summer experiences for INCOMING 5th- 6th graders (CURRENT 4th-5th graders).

  • The program is run in a day camp type atmosphere.
  • The routine is structured to meet the needs of the students and the projects/activities that they will be working on.
  • Field trip experiences are included as well as an end of the month celebration and/or field trip.
  • You will register for CAMP U under the Summer Enrichment Registration tab. 
    • CAMP U! is a 4 hour Summer Enrichment class.
  • The fee for Camp U! is $320.00 for the duration of the program. Click on the Summer Enrichment Fees tab for more information. 

Location: Forest Ridge Elementary Dates: June 2- June 26, 2020 Time: 4 Hour program, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ages: Current 4th & 5th graders

Students will experience all of the following classes and recess through a rotation schedule. CAMP U! It's All About YOU! The following is an IDEA of what may be pffered for Summer 2020. Updated class information will be available on or before April 1st.

Theatre U!

This segment of Camp U will allow you to explore the wonderful world of Theatre. Students will overcome stage fright, explore characters, read and perform from scripts, practice improvisational acting and perform a short play from the bard himself, William Shakespeare! Come and “Break a leg” with us this!

Cooking & Crafts U!

We will cook up some kid-friendly foods and expose the students to kitchen tools, measurements, and cooking/preparation techniques.

We will also create unique crafts, and even implement some Science activities into our learning. This class is all about YOU!

World Drumming U!

We will learn basic drumming technique while experiencing Calypso, rock, swing, and Middle Eastern patterns. Students will jam together using tubano drums and other world percussion instruments.

This year's HISTORY U will include activities on Native American History. We will be doing some Native American art projects, including feather art, bead artwork, and our own totem poles. We will also be playing a lot of Native American games and sports, some that were played thousands of years ago on the Western prairie and some more modern. We will be taking a long step back into Native American History and will have plenty of fun doing it!

Physical U!

Physical U is a class that will work the body and mind while having fun. Activities and sports will include the following: Basketball, rhythm stick drumming, 4 Square, pickleball, ultimate football, and Bootcamp workouts.
