
A pair of CSISD middle school robotics teams advanced to the Central Area LEGO League Robotics Championship by recently placing at a qualifying event.
A total of three teams form each CSISD middle school showed off their skills at the qualifier held at Sam Rayburn Middle School, with CSMS Team No. 2 winning third place overall and AMCMS World Wide Tech team placing second in core values.
Both teams will advance to the next level of competition to be held on February 16 at Westwood High School in Round Rock.
CSMS Team No. 2 consists of Wassim Benzerga, Minh Nguyen, Caleb Zaragoza, Michael Yang, Debarghya Chaki, Lucas Chiang, Kyler Larsen, and Kevin Zhang.
John Dvoracek, Nicholas Howard and Peter Brown represented AMCMS on the World Wide Tech team.
LEGO League teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, then compete on a table-top playing field.
