With the help of consultants from engage2learn, The CSISD Board of Trustees will engage the community, staff and students in a strategic planning process to help set the course for the district going forward.
The process will occur in four phases.
Phase1: Engage
Through community summits, stakeholder focus groups, and an online survey, CSISD gathered information about the needs and wants of the community regarding its public schools.
An assembled team of 35-40 individuals representing various stakeholder groups will spend 6 to 7 days together throughout the latter half of the spring designing the strategic plan based upon the feedback gathered during the first phase of the process.
The design team will complete the following phases.
Phase 2: Design
- During the process of the design sessions, the design team will collaboratively develop the vision, mission, and beliefs for the district. This process will be firmly rooted in the input provided by the community at large during the Community Engagement phase.
Phase 3: Create
- Following the Design Phase, the Strategic Design Team and additional participants will work to create specific results aligned with the high-leverage strategic goals, agreed upon by the Design team. The Create Phase allows members of the community and district to work together to develop and sequence the specific results to achieve each goal for the next five years. During this phase, members of the team will conduct research to develop the action ideas for each goal.
Phase 4: Lead
- Following the Create Phase, e2L will facilitate the design of a custom Community-Based Accountability Dashboard/Scorecard that is aligned to the College Station ISD Strategic Plan. This tool effectively evaluates and communicates the Strategic Design progress. Creating a Community-Based Accountability Dashboard/Scorecard allows districts to rate campuses using locally developed domains and accountability measures, at their option. Solely focusing on standardized test scores can paint a limited picture of the success of campuses. Designing a Community-Based Accountability Dashboard/Scorecard captures specific measures that contribute to the student and school’s accomplishments while also identifying critical needs.
Please see the strategic planning calendar below. Please note that the dates, times and locations are subject to change.
