Susan Heath

Susan Heath - Director, Early Education Services

Susan worked in social services for 20+ years before joining College Station ISD Head Start as a Family Advocate in 2008.  She became the Early Head Start Operations Manager in 2010 when CSISD received the grant to expand services to pregnant women and families with children 0-3.  After moving to Austin in 2014, Susan consulted with educational and non-profit organizations nationwide before rejoining College Station ISD as the Director of Early Education Services in July 2019.  Susan is passionate about creating equity and inclusiveness for all students and their families.

Ashlea Weiss

Ashlea Weiss - Compliance & Data Specialist, Early Education Services

Ashlea earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University in 2015, and will complete her Master of Arts in Sociology in 2018. Ashlea worked with College Station ISD Head Start

& Pre-K programs throughout her undergraduate degree, and that experience led to a position as the Data and Compliance Specialist. She is committed to using data to continuously explore new ways to serve children and families, as well as improve the program's ability to best serve the community.

Ashlea is passionate about traveling with her husband, serving with her church family, and baking sweets for others to enjoy!

Shelly Rice

Shelly Rice - Education, Disabilities & Mental Health, Head Start & Pre-K

Shelly has been with CSISD Head Start for 20 years. She was a classroom teacher for 18 years before earning a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University and moving into the role of Education/Mental Health/ Disabilities Specialist. She is passionate about providing inclusive and equal opportunities for all children.

Magan Smith

Magan Smith - Health, Nutrition & Safety, Head Start & Pre-K

Magan attended Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in School Health and a Master of Science in Health Education. She taught elementary health and kindergarten before joining College Station ISD Head Start & Pre-K. She is committed to working with families to ensure their children are healthy, happy and ready to learn. Magan loves spending time with her husband and two young daughters; especially story time and snuggles.

Amber Lubanski

Amber Lubanski - Family Engagement Specialist, Head Start

Amber earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in Early Childhood Education, and taught Kindergarten for 4 years before joining CSISD Head Start. With the Head Start family she has been a teaching assistant, teacher, and is currently the Family Engagement Specialist. Her philosophy is that a parent is a child's first and most important teacher and that a strong partnership between parents and teaching staff is essential to school success. For this reason, she is dedicated to equipping families and staff with the skills necessary to support school readiness.

Kim Hodge

Kim Hodge - Operations Manager, Early Head Start

Kim has been with Early Head Start since 2014. She worked for Head Start early in her career before owning and operating a Montessori School for 12 years. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development in 1993. She is the mother of 2 beautiful teenage children who keep her very busy with activities. Her passion in life is for every child to experience a rich and wonderful childhood.

Julia West

Julia West - Disabilities, Health, Nutrition & Safety, Early Head Start

Julia has been with Early Head Start since January 2015. She has been in different aspects of the medical field for 17 years. Julia joined the Navy in 1998 and served for 5 years. While in the Navy, she spent several years working in hospitals, clinics, and as an Emergency Medical Technician. Her passions are the health, nutrition & safety of children in the community. Julia completed her Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration with University of Phoenix.
